18 April 2007
On
18 April, the ACCESS-FP Program and
Jhpiego were pleased to host partners from
The Gates Institute for Reproductive Health. The 18 individuals, most of whom were from African countries, visited
Jhpiego for an update on postpartum family planning and preventing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH).
Dr. Ronald Magarick, Director of Jhpiego’s Family Planning/Reproductive Health Center of Excellence,
opened the meeting with welcoming remarks. The technical update
included a presentation by Dr. Catharine McKaig, Director of ACCESS-FP, on "The Dilemma of Postpartum Family Planning," and
a presentation by Dr. Harshad Sanghvi, Jhpiego Medical Director,
on "Innovative Approaches and Cost-Effective Solutions for Preventing PPH at Homebirth."
